Last Saturday Saddleworth RDA held a fantastic Countryside Challenge fundraising event, and Horse Simulator experience, as part of the North West’s leg of the Great Horses for Health Relay UK.

The weather was not on their side, and all got absolutely soaked, but they didn’t let this dampen their spirits and it was a wonderful day! Naylors kindly sponsored the Challenge, which was judged by well known circuit judge John Lloyd. The winner was Mollie riding Ludo.

Riders completed their challenge round first then got to experience canter for the first time on BETA’s RoboCob simulator. Every rider received a BETA goodie bag, rosette and certificate. Sheila Saner, Great Manchester County Chair and Regional Coach, had an enjoyable day and led the RoboCob sessions. Bumble and Brunswick, GMP Police Horses, also kindly came to support the event.

They raised a total of £545 for the 7 equine charities which includes RDA. Big well done to all a Saddleworth RDA!
