HRH The Princess Royal visits Nantwich & District RDA Group

All at Nantwich & District RDA had a day to remember when Princess Anne, who is President of RDA, visited and officially opened their RDA Centre, and Platinum Jubilee Stables, at Reaseheath College on 30 January.

In addition to viewing the first class RDA facilities, and of course the horses and ponies, Princess Anne watched a group of riders demonstrate their skills and met with RDA coaches, trustees, volunteers, and the riders.  Supporters of the group, and the new facilities, also met Princess Anne who unveiled a commemorative plaque and cut a cake that had been specially designed for the occasion by Reaseheath’s Bakery Lecturer and baked by their students.

During the occasion Princess Anne presented RDA President’s Award to five volunteers which included Joan Waters, the Chair of the Riding for the Disabled Isle of Man Group, which is part of our RDA NW Region. The award is a tremendous achievement and is given to those volunteers who have given at least 30 years service to RDA and have shown exceptional dedication.

This fantastic video of the Royal Visit was put together by Emily Woodvine, Reaseheath’s Official Videographer, which is a fabulous memento of this wonderful occasion.
